How do I add a link to mediasite lectures into a MySCU Learning site?

There are two ways that you can put Mediasite lectures into MySCU.

  1. Create a channel and link that into MySCU
  2. Link each video into MySCU individually.

Personally of those two the channel is the best method.

To link a channel into MySCU you will need to have created a channel and placed videos into it. Please refer to the two below articles for instructions on how to do that:

How do I create a Mediasite Channel

Add a video into a channel, Scroll to the section title "Publish tab" section. Select channel instead of shared folder and the instructions are the same otherwise.

First Method

  • Once you have created a channel and placed videos into it. Please click onto it on the left hand side of your MyMediasite.
  • Once in there click onto the button that says "view channel" in the top right corner.
  • Copy the address from the address bar of the web browser.
  • Open up the location within your MySCU learning site that you wish to add the channel into.
  • Click onto "Build Content", then select "Web Link".
  • Paste the copied link into "URL", I suggest making the name "Mediasite Lectures" and fill out the rest of the details as required. Once you are done click onto "Submit".
  • To view the videos click onto what you name the Web link, this will load the channel in a new tab in the browser and display a list of videos in it.

Second method

  • Login to your MyMediasite and click onto the video you want to link into MySCU.
  • Select the share tab along the top. (The share tab can be seen in this article)
  • Copy the "Link" from the top of the page.
  • Open up the location within your MySCU learning site that you wish to add the channel into.
  • Click onto "Build Content", then select "Web Link".
  • Paste the copied link into "URL" and fill out the rest of the details as required. Once you are done click onto "Submit".
  • To view the video click onto what you named the Web link, this will load the channel in a new tab in the browser and display a list of videos in it.
