Add mediasite Channel into a MySCU Learning site

There are two ways that you can put Mediasite lectures into MySCU.

  1. Create a channel and link the channel into your learning site
  2. Link each video individually into your learning site.

To link a channel into MySCU you will need to have created a channel and placed videos into it. Please refer to the two below articles for instructions on how to do that:

First Method - Link the Mediasite channel into your learning site

1. Once you have created a channel and placed videos into it, click on the channel name from the left menu column

2. Click on the "view channel" button in the top right corner.

3. Copy the whole URL from the address bar of the web browser.

4.  Login to MySCU (Blackboard), enter the learning site and go to the page where the Mediasite link needs to be added.

5. Click onto "Build Content", then select "Web Link".

6. Paste the copied link into "URL".  We suggest making the name "Mediasite Lectures" and fill out the rest of the details as required. Once you are done click onto "Submit".

To view the videos click onto what you name the Web link, this will load the channel in a new tab in the browser and display a list of videos in it.

Second method - individually link each video into your learning site.

1. Login to your MyMediasite and click onto the video you want to link into MySCU.

2. Select the share tab along the top. (The share tab can be seen in this article)

Copy the "Link" from the top of the page.mceclip1.png

3. Login to MySCU (Blackboard), enter the learning site and go to the page where the Mediasite link needs to be added.

4. Click onto "Build Content", then select "Web Link".

5. Paste the copied link into "URL" and fill out the rest of the details as required. Once you are done click onto "Submit".

6. To view the video click onto what you named the Web link, this will load the channel in a new tab in the browser and display a list of videos in it.
