Watch / Download a Collaborate recording

To play back a Collaborate recording follow the steps below.

If your screen doesn't look like the one below, the Collaborate session may have been recorded in Collaborate Ultra - in which case, please see the instructions here.

Go to the Blackboard Collaborate link in the site that you wish to watch the recording in.

Swap to the view of the recordings (you will land on the Scheduled Sessions view by default)

Identify the Recording you want to view, to play it back on a computer (Mac or PC) click the little purple icon. You will need to have the Collaborate Launcher installed for it to work. Depending on your browser settings, the play.collab file will either open in the Collaborate Launcher or download to your default download directory, where you will then have to locate it, then double click to run it.

If you have the Collaborate Launcher installed and are experiencing difficulties getting the recording to play please see: I can't get my Collaborate Session or Recording to open

To download a Collaborate recording for offline viewing follow the steps below.

Go to the Blackboard Collaborate link in the site that you wish to watch the recording in.

Swap to the view of the recordings (you will land on the Scheduled Sessions view by default)

Identify the Recording you wish to download. In the Audio and Video column, you will find a Capture2.PNG button.

Note: If the Capture2.PNGbutton is not present and instead displays with a Capture.PNGbutton, you will need to click convert. Our systems will then create the file for everyone to download. This may take a while, but keep in mind that this is done by our servers and your computer does not have to be switched on to complete this process.
