How do I organise a teleconference?

There are a number of options that allow you to initiate a teleconference call.

If you are able/willing to call all parties joining the conference rather than having them call in you can utilise one of these "Self Service" options:

1. Create a phone conference call with virtually unlimited parties (both internal and external) via a Huawei phone, utlising the instructions here

2. Create a phone conference call utilising a Polycom Soundstation IP6000 (often called a 'batphone') with up to 2 other parties, utlising the instructions here

Note: If you wish to create a conference call with more than 3 parties but use a Polycom Soundstation in a meeting room you can initiate the conference on a Huawei phone as per item 1 and include the Polycom by dialing it as a member of the conference, once the call is set up you can hang up the Huawei phone and continue the conversation with all parties on the Polycom Soundstation.

If you need parties to 'call in' to join a teleconference, or are not confident to utlise the Self-Service options please contact the Service Desk to pre-book a conference call with at least 24 hours notice.

If you regularly require this please ask about being given web access to create and administer these calls yourself.
